REGINA V H.M. [PROVINCIAL COURT, CALGARY]
H was charged with various counts of assault and assault causing bodily harm contrary to section 266 and 267 of the Criminal Code. The allegations arose following a domestic disturbance call that was received from an alleged prostitute. The allegation was that there was a disagreement between parties and H began attacking the complainant. H maintained that this was completely fabricated and retained Calgary Defence lawyer Curtis Mennie. Criminal lawyer Curtis Mennie entered pleas of not guilty and scheduled the matters down for trial. Curtis Mennie prepared with H for trial and on the day of trial all charges against H were withdrawn. H received no criminal record and received no convictions.
