REGINA V M.C. [PROVINCIAL COURT, STRATHMORE]
M was charged with numerous stolen property offences contrary to section 355(a) of the Criminal Code. The allegations arose following an RCMP investigation that led to stolen vehicles being discovered on farmland. M was residing at the property along with several other individuals. M retained Calgary criminal lawyer Curtis Mennie who entered pleas of not guilty and scheduled the matters down for trial. The charges against the co-accused were laid on different informations, they would all have separate trial dates. Defence lawyer Curtis Mennie and M were prepared to go to trial on the issue of possession and knowledge. Prior to trial all charges against M were withdrawn by the Crown.
