REGINA V M.T. [PROVINCIAL COURT, CALGARY]

T was charged with an assault with a weapon contrary to section 267 of the Criminal Code. The allegations arose from an incident at a truck stop where T was captured on video getting into an altercation with another trucker, both wielded weapons of a hammer and baton. After retaining Calgary Defence Lawyer Curtis Mennie a meeting was setup with the Crown’s office where all of the positive contributions T had made in his life was explained and that it was incredibly out of character for him to be involved in such an incident. Ultimately it was agreed that T was be referred to the alternative measures program and after completing a counselling program all charges against him were withdrawn. T received no criminal record and was able to maintain his employment with his trucking company.

T wrote the following: “Thank you for all the work you put into clearing my record, and believing in me from the start. You can be sure you will be recommended as a defence attorney with superior negotiating skills. You, also, are very personable and reassuring. With Deep, sincere gratitude and appreciation”
