P was charged with abduction in contravention of a custody order under section 282 of the Criminal Code for allegations that she took her daughter from her daughter's father without permission. The complainant had a custody order in place for P's daughter which stated she could not have custody unless she obtained written permission. P maintained that she had permission and that the complainant was selling drugs from his house when she took the child. Matter was set down for trial to run on these issues, following conversations with the Crown charges were stayed 3 days prior to trial.
