REGINA V W.A. [PROVINCIAL COURT, DIDSBURY]
W was charged with multiple counts of possessing stolen property contrary to section 355 of the Criminal Code after the RCMP raided his farm North of Didsbury and discovered stolen goods in a barn. W explained to criminal defence lawyer Curtis Mennie that there were multiple people residing on his property and that the stolen goods were not his nor did he have knowledge of them. Following a meeting between Curtis Mennie and the Crown, it was agreed that W would swear a statutory declaration that none of the property was his and the charges would be withdrawn. W received no criminal record and all charges against him were withdrawn.
