REGINA V M.T. [PROVINCIAL COURT, CALGARY]

M was charged with a domestic assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code. The allegations were from several years prior and the charge had been at warrant for several years. The allegations were made by M’s ex common law partner in the midst of a divorce. M retained Calgary criminal lawyer Curtis Mennie who secured his release and set his charges down for trial. M and defence lawyer Curtis Mennie prepared for trial and on the day of trial the charges against M were withdrawn. M received no criminal record.
